In March/April 2011 four members of the UK's award winning disability led Oska Bright Film Festival arrived for a film making residency in SA. The group supported our launch of the Real2Real film making project https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Tutti-Real2Real/141752829201010 at the Mercury Cinema as part of the Adelaide International Film Festival and ran five film making workshops with 50 enthusiastic learning disabled film makers in Adelaide, the Barossa and Mid North.
The project, in partnership with DATT, Lower North Health and the Barossa Council was funded by Country Arts SA and a great outcome has been the formation of a new committee with four learning disabled filmmakers from regional SA and two from Adelaide. This committee is planning a disability led film festival for South Australia in 2013.
Another great outcome is that this year five SA films have been accepted into this year's Oska Bright Film Festival, www.oskabright.co.uk including Jason Crowhurst's Folsom Prison Blues. Congratulations to everyone!
