Melbourne's West enjoys a new generation of spoken word stars who aren't afraid to tell it like it is. From the Acerbic to the Romantic, these slam poets and wordly word smiths will have you hooked.
'' Every night of the week, in bars, back rooms and basements across Melbourne, there are open mic nights. A strange set of characters are drawn to these waiting microphones. The talented, the brave and the totally insane collide to create a bizarre subculture that leaves us laughing.
OPEN MIC NIGHT is a celberation of the absurdities of the spoken word community. Come and observe the hilarious cliches that converge around the microphones of Melbourne, and while you're there, put your name on the list.
